Report summary

The Hazira regas terminal is the first privately owned LNG terminal in India. Construction of the terminal started in August 2001, and was inaugurated on 17th April 2005 after a 3-month delay due to difficulties in procuring the first cargo, securing offtakers and adhering to a new Indian LNG policy. Hazira LNG (HLPL), a joint venture between Shell and Total (74% and 26% respectively), is the operator and joint marketing entity for the regas terminal. The Hazira terminal was set up to ...
