NLNG sanctions Train 7
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Just before the new year, on 27 December, NLNG finally sanctioned Train 7. It beat Mozambique's Rovuma LNG project which is now due in 2020. Train 7 is Nigeria's largest FID project since Egina in 2013. The project involves a new 4.2 mmtpa liquefaction train and debottlenecking of the existing trains on Bonny Island providing an additional 3.4 mmtpa capacity. The first cargo is planned for 2024. Project breakeven costs are competitive against other projects in the Atlantic Basin, notably the United States. The NLNG partners will also need to invest in upstream in order to secure feed gas supply, of which 1.2 bcf/d is required.
