Report summary
Tortue is a giant deepwater gas field straddling the border of Senegal and Mauritania. Development of the field was proposed to be carried out in phases. Phase 1 is being developed with a floating LNG (FLNG) concept. The Final Investment Decision (FID) was taken in December 2018, and LNG production began in Q1 2025. In February 2018, Mauritania and Senegal signed an Inter-Governmental Cooperation Agreement (ICA). The agreement splits resources, revenue and costs on a 50:50 basis between ...
