During the bidding war over Anadarko, Total reached a binding agreement with Occidental to acquire Anadarko's upstream assets in Africa. This includes its 26.5% stake in the 12.9 mmtpa Mozambique LNG project (upstream and LNG plant) where Anadarko is the operator. Occidental and Anadarko confirmed the merger on 9 May. The deal with Total is contingent upon completion of the acquisition and regulatory approvals. What are the implications for Total's LNG portfolio and for the project?
