Report summary
The global economy is enjoying a period of relative calm and strength. The outlook has improved since the start of the year; we have upgraded our short-term forecasts for most major economies. In particular, Europe and Asia have exceeded our expectations. Not so for the US. Growth has picked up from its five-year low in 2016, but is not living up to expectations.
