Aguas Tenidas copper mine
Report summary
Aguas Tenidas is a historic underground mine and mill which resumed operations under Iberian Minerals in 2009 at an initial processing capacity of 1.7Mt/a. An expansion to 4.4Mt/a was completed in Q2 2015. Two types of ore – copper and polymetallic – are processed in two separate circuits to produce a blended copper concentrate and a zinc concentrate. Production of a separate lead concentrate began in 2011.
