The major shareholders of Xinjiang Ashele Copper are Fujian Zijin Mining Industry Group( 51%), Xinjiang NF Metals Industry Group (29%), Xinjiang Geology and Mineral Resources Prospecting and Development Bureau (13%), Xinjiang Katatongke Copper-Nickel Mine (5%) and , Xinjiang Baodi Mining Co. (2%). The mine was commissioned in September 2004, with first zinc production in late 2004 and copper production in 2005.
