Atlas copper mine
Report summary
The Atlas (Cebu) operation is located on the island of Cebu, in the middle-eastern part of the Philippines. The mine site complex is accessible by a paved road 30km from the coastal highway. Mining recommenced in 2008 initially in the South Lutopan pit, and transitioned into the Carmen pit in June 2012. Due to the long period of closure in a tropical environment, nearly all of the existing mining and milling equipment was replaced prior to the 2008 restart. The mine is forecast to continue producing through to 2035.
