Baoshan steel plant
Report summary
Baoshan steel plant is an integrated steel producer with 14 Mtpa crude steel capacity located in Shanghai. It is one of the wholly-owned subsidiaries of previous Baosteel Group and now Baowu Steel Group. The Baoshan steel plant commenced construction in 1978 following China's political reform and was eventually commissioned in 1985. The plant was built in an attempt to imitate the success of POSCO in South Korea and Nippon Steel in Japan.
