Report summary
The Barberton operations comprise a complex of three underground gold mines – Fairview Mine, Sheba Mine, and Consort Mine – along with the Barberton Tailings Retreatment Plant (BTRP). The Barberton mines typically host mineralisation that is shear zone hosted veins or lode style that hold high grade gold that correlate to the local geologic structures. The presence of free gold is relatively common and is key to the high grades that are often achieved.
