Report summary
The refinery is located at Beerse, 6km west of Turnhout and has a capacity of 36kt/a cathode. Anodes for the refinery come from the secondary smelter on the same site that also produces lead and tin. Typical smelter production is 110-120kt/a copper anodes, 18kt/a lead and 9kt/a tin. No electrolyte purification is undertaken at Beerse, control being achieved by a bleed that is sent to Olen for further treatment.
