The construction of a 60-100kt/a electrolytic zinc smelter by HZL in Rajasthan, originally scheduled to be commissioned in 2004 has been highly probable for some years. The original intended location was Kapasan but, in 2003, it was decided to locate it at Chanderiya, on the same site as the existing ISF zinc-lead smelter complex. It consumes Rampura-Agucha concentrates that were being exported i.e.-domestic concentrates, and this mine has been expanded to continue the surplus...
