Chapi is a porphyry copper deposit with oxide and sulphide ore. The SxEw operation started in January 2006 by treating oxides and secondary sulphide ore from the open pit. It was suspended in November 2012. Chapi plans to restart in 2023 with a 3ktpd process plant, that will later be expanded to 6ktpd. The mine is located in the La Capilla District in the Province of General Sanchez Cerro in the Department of Moquegua, Peru.
