Fresnillo Saucito zinc mine
Report summary
The Fresnillo Saucito underground mine is located in Zacatecas, Mexico. The bulk of mining production consists of mine development (35-40%), long hole drilling (30-35%) and overhand cut and fill (25-35%). Waste rock is used for backfill. By mid-2016 the Jarillas vein represented 80% of the mine production (around 6kt/d) and the balance was provided by the Sauctio and Mezquite veins. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
