Garfield copper refinery
Report summary
The refinery is located approximately two miles from the Garfield smelter near Salt Lake City, Utah, and has excellent road and rail links. The plant was commissioned with a capacity of 207kt/a cathode in 1950 and treats anodes from the Garfield smelter. All of the Kennecott operations were shut down from March 1985 to June 1987.
