Report summary
The following notes and accompanying analysis cover operations of the state owned mining company Gecamines (with the exception of the Kipushi Cu/Zn operation) up until 2002. The Kipushi operation is the subject of a separate analysis. Since 2002 the main activity of Gecamines has been as a minority partner in joint ventures to develop projects and operations including KOV, Tenke Fungurume, Kamoto and Kolwezi Tailings that are now the subject of separate analysis.
