Report summary
The summer malaise has truly set in across the range of graphite products that we cover. Prices have continued their long-running downward trend; although some European graphite flakes bucked this, this is likely due to logistical issues rather than real demand improvements. With several new ex-China sources of raw materials (both flake and needle coke) ramping up, it's difficult to see much upside in the short-term, despite some hope from the traditionally strong September to October period for vehicle sales in China.
