Report summary
The transition towards a decarbonised economy is gaining pace, and forecasts for electric vehicles (EVs) adoption continue to exceed expectations. Focus has historically been placed on cathode materials markets, such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, to the detriment of understanding the battery anode materials (BAM) market. This market is overwhelmingly dominated by the use of graphite, a material used in all LiB technologies. As a result, battery sectors are the primary demand growth sector within the graphite market in the near term and the dominant demand source in the long term.
