The Jiangxi Lithium plant was originally owned by Jiangxi Lithium. However, in 2005 the company was declared bankrupt and was taken over by Sichuan Nike Guorun New Material Ltd. Construction on the refinery started in July 2006 and was put into production in 2007 with a capacity of 2kt Ni/a. The operation was expanded to 5kt Ni/a and then doubled again to 10kt Ni/a by the end of 2008. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
