Cawse - Closed nickel operation
Report summary
Cawse Nickel Operations were commissioned in October 1998. First metal production came in February 1999, with a two-year ramp-up thought necessary before full production can be reached. The commissioning of the power station, desalination plant, ore preparation and CCD areas was completed in July 1998. Centaur and Union Minière are looking to upgrade the CoS product to sulphate or metal. Construction and working capital requirements for Cawse were fully funded from the December 1997...
