The Jilang smelter commenced production in late 2005 with an initial zinc smelting capacity of 18kt/a. It expanded capacity to 50kt/a in 2009, followed by further expansion to 70kt/a in 2014 and 100kt/a in 2022. Aside from a major zinc producer, the smelter also has 100t/a capacity of refined indium.
