LaRonde mine is one of the deepest mines in the Western Hemisphere with its 2.2km deep Penna Shaft. Underground production is from the LaRonde, El Coco and Bousquet properties, using a combination of longitudinal retreat and transverse open stoping mining methods. Processing is relatively straightforward with grinding, differential flotation - copper/lead flotation and separation, zinc flotation and zinc tailings precious metals leaching circuits followed by carbon-in-leach (CIL) recovery. Mine life is estimated until 2036.
