Report summary

LaRonde is one of the deepest mines in the Western Hemisphere with its 2.2km deep Penna Shaft. Underground production is from the LaRonde and El Coco properties using a combination of longitudinal retreat and transverse open stoping mining methods. Processing is relatively straightforward with grinding differential flotation copper/lead flotation and separation zinc flotation and zinc tailings precious metals leaching circuits followed by carbon in leach (CIL) recovery. Mine life is estimated at 8 years until 2024 with the possibility of a further 2 year extension with production from LaRonde Zone 5. In 2016 payable production totalled306koz Au 988koz Ag 4.7kt Zn and 4.4kt Cu.
