Report summary
LaRonde mine is one of the deepest mines in the Western Hemisphere with its 2.2km deep Penna Shaft. Underground production is from the LaRonde, El Coco and Bousquet properties, using a combination of longitudinal retreat and transverse open stoping mining methods. Processing is relatively straightforward with grinding, differential flotation - copper/lead flotation and separation, zinc flotation and zinc tailings precious metals leaching circuits followed by carbon-in-leach (CIL) recovery. Mine life is estimated at 8 years until 2027, with the possibility of a further 2 year extension. with production from LaRonde Zone 5 (LZ5). In 2019, payable production from the LaRonde and LZ5 mines totalled 403koz Au, 895koz Ag, 13.2kt Zn and 3.4kt Cu.
