The EU's Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA) aims to increase the region's manufacturing sector's share of GDP to 20% by 2035. To achieve this, the IAA brings in several key piece of legislation that aim to accelerate industrial capacity, strengthen economic security and embed “Made in EU” and low‑carbon preferences across public procurement, subsidies and permitting regimes. However, across every sector analysed, a consistent pattern emerges: ambitious headlines that are watered down by implementation choices.
