Long Canyon gold mine
Report summary
Long Canyon is a sedimentary-hosted disseminated deposit mined through an open-pit mine and processed in a heap leach pad. Gold recovered from the leach pad is transferred as gold-bearing carbon to Newmont's Carlin facilities for refining and shipment. Long Canyon is the second project after Merian in Suriname to be commissioned by Newmont since 2014. The operation is part of Nevada Gold Mines, a Barrick and Newmont Goldcorp joint venture. Barrick is the mine operator.
