Report summary

The refinery and the associated secondary smelter are located at Luenen, 10km north of Dortmund, and have excellent road, rail and canal links. Kayser, Ahlemayer & Co. was formed in 1861 for the recovery of precious metals but soon diversified to operate two plants in Berlin for the recovery of copper from secondaries.  Electrolytic refining was first introduced in 1881.  During the period 1913-1916 the plant at Luenen was constructed and in 1929 the company merged with Huettenwerke...
