Maricunga - Lithium brine project
Report summary
Operated by Minera Salar Blanco S.A, Maricunga is a lithium brine project located in Atacama, Chile. The project, currently at definitive feasibility study stage, is located in the northern sector of the Salar de Maricunga within a mature halite-dominant region of the salt lake. The project proposes to use solar pond evaporation to produce up to 20ktpy of lithium carbonate with a targeted start date in 2025. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating several granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry-standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
