Mineracao Caraiba S.A. (Jaguarari) operates a mining and milling complex in the Curaçá Valley. Initially (since 1979) the concentrator had a capacity of 20kt/d ore operating with four ball mills. In 1999 two of the four ball mills were sold, reducing the milling capacity to 9.6kt/d ore or 3.2Mt/a. The Jaguarari mill operates well below its capacity due to lack of mined ore. Latest October 2020 technical report targeted phased expansion approach to capacity of 4.2Mt/a.
