Report summary

Mining Area C (MAC) is a large open cut iron ore mining operation located approximately 348 kilometres by rail from Port Hedland Western Australia. BHP Billiton has an 85% interest in MAC with foundation partners Itochu and Mitsui owning 8% and 7% respectively. MAC's production capacity has increased to 60Mtpa as part of BHP's RGP5 project and it is one of the lowest cost mines supplying the seaborne market.
