Report summary
Moab Khotsong, Great Noligwa and Kopanang make up Anglogold Ashanti's Vaal operations. Ore from these three mines is treated at a central common plant. From 1 January 2015, the Great Noligwa mine has been incorporated into the Moab Khotsong business unit. The company decided to sell Moab Khotsong to restructure South African portfolio, as it is a relatively short-life mine. The sale to Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited for US$300 million was announced in October 2017 later completed in February 2018.
