Mount Isa copper mine
Report summary
The Mount Isa copper complex is located in north-western Queensland, Australia, and consists of two underground mines (Enterprise and X41), a copper concentrator and an integrated smelter. The mining rate is 6 Mtpa. The integrated smelter produces around 200-250 kt/a copper in anodes including third party feed, which are railed 950 kilometres to Townsville for refining. The operation is 100% owned by Glencore, following its merger with Xstrata in 2013.
