Mount Isa copper mine

Report summary

The Mount Isa copper complex is located in north-western Queensland, Australia, and consists of two underground mines (Enterprise and X41), a copper concentrator and an integrated smelter. The mining rate is 6Mtpa, producing around 240kt per year Cu in anodes, which are railed 950 kilometres to Townsville for refining.  The operation is 100% owned by Glencore, following its merger with Xstrata in 2013.
