Mt Cattlin - Lithium mine
Report summary
Operated by Allkem Ltd, Mt Cattlin is a lithium mineral operation located in Western Australia. Galaxy Resources Ltd first began production of spodumene and tantalite concentrates at Mt Cattlin in June 2010; however, operations were suspended in July 2012 due to market oversupply and a strong Australian dollar. Operations were restarted in March 2016, and in August 2021, Galaxy Resources merged with Orocobre to form Allkem. The remaining mine life is less than 3 years. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating several granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry-standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
