The Nezhda project is located in northeast Yakutia, Russia, approximately 480km east from the city of Yakutsk. It is in a remote location with access provided by an all-season unpaved road and no grid connection. The nearest federal highway is 110km away which provides passage to the Khandyga river port 170km away and the Nizhniy Bestiakh railway spur 540km away. The mine plan encompasses five open pits that will be mined over a period of approximately 25 years, adopting conventional drill-and-blast and truck-shovel methods. The mine will then transition to an underground operation that will utilise long-hole stoping.
