An essential element in getting Raglan off the ground was an agreement with the Inuit population, represented by the Makivik Corp, which oversees the political, economic and social development of the 14 villages of the Nunavik region. Falconbridge agreed to pay Makivik cash compensation of C$14.1 million plus a royalty on net revenue of 4.5% for the first 15 years.
