Sabinas zinc mine
Report summary
Sabinas is a skarn deposit and operates an underground mine and two flotation plants with a total capacity of 3.95 kt/d ore. Plant 1 (1.5kt/d) processes Pb-Zn ores with low Cu grades from massive sulphide veins, while plant 2 (2.45kt/d) processes the skarn Cu-Zn ore with low Pb grades. The final products are copper, lead and zinc concentrates. The lead and zinc concentrates are usually sent to the Met-Mex metallurgical complex in Torreon and owned by Peñoles.
