The Safford mine property covers an area over 26,000 acres and hosts three open pit deposits, Dos Pobres, San Juan (both mined historically) and Lone Star. Copper cathode is produced by leaching crushed ore and treating the resultant pregnant leach solution by SxEw. Cathode production at Safford started in December 2007 and is costed in the accompanying analysis from January 2008 onwards. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs.
