Shituru SxEw copper mine
Report summary
In May 2012 it was reported that the Katangan minister of mines had banned the export of any production from Shituru until further notice following him being denied access to the site. However the company reported in its Q3 2012 report that a formal approval was received from the government in September and export of the refined copper cathode had started. At the end of Q3 2012, cumulative cathode production had reached 4kt and the accompanying analysis assumes total production of 7kt in 2012.
