Monywa SxEw copper mine
Report summary
The Monywa copper mine cover three deposits - Sabetaung, Sabetaung South and Kyisintaung located at Sagaing region in Myanmar. They have been developed as the S&K mine considered in this analysis. Copper mining has been undertaken on the S&K site for centuries. A mine and conventional concentrator, built by RTB Bor, was operated by the Myanmar government prior to construction of the SxEw project. The fourth deposit, named Letpadaung is located 7km from the S&K mine was developed and started production in 2016. Letpadaung copper operation is covered in a separate asset profile.
