Silver Bell SxEw copper mine

Report summary

Mining commenced in 1952. A precipitate plant was operated from 1984 until 1996 when it was replaced by an SxEw plant. Silver Bell's main production is from dump leaching of ROM ore. Production and cost estimates from 2005 - 2007 are order of magnitude only reflecting the absence of disclosure following ASARCO seeking Chapter 11 protection from creditors. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
