State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) was form by merging of China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) with State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation in July 2015. The new company absorbed all bauxite, alumina and aluminium assets of CPI. Most of SPIC's aluminium-related operations are located in China, with the company's smelters located in Inner Mongolia, Qinghai and Ningxia provinces. The company also started a bauxite mine in Guinea to address its short bauxite position.
