Tia Maria SxEw copper mine project
Report summary
The Tia Maria project is situated 70 kilometres north of the Ilo smelter, in the Cocachacra district, Arequipa province. The project contemplates a conventional open pit mining method and a leaching and SxEw 120kt/a cathode plant. The estimated capital investment for this project is US$1,400 millions including a desalinization plant of US$95 million. This desalinated water is to be pumped more than 25km and a head of 1000msn.
