Trapiche SxEw copper mine project
Report summary
The Trapiche project is an open-pit and heap leach project located in the Apurimac region of the Antabamba Province, Peru. In November 2023, Buenaventura's submitted a detailed Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to the Peruvian authorities. The PFS, published in November 2021, outlines plan for a conventional open-pit operation with heap leaching. The project is expected to process an average of 75kt per day. The Sx-Ew plant is expected to produce 60kt/a of cathodes, with a peak production of 70kt/a.
