Whim Creek SxEw copper mine
Report summary
The Whim Creek SxEw copper mine report refers to the mining and processing activities that produce cathode copper between the years 2005 and 2009. Ore was extracted from the Whim Creek and Mons Cupri deposits using conventional open pit mining methods. The sale of Whim Creek by Straits Resources to Venturex Resources was completed February 2010. Small scale production of 1kt/a copper which commenced in 2014 were excluded from the accompanying analysis. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
