Wingellina nickel project
Report summary
The Wingellina nickel-cobalt project is part of Metal X's Central Musgrave development which straddles the three borders of Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia. Wingellina is one of the largest nickeliferous 'pure oxide' limonite deposits in the world and it is expected that the ore will be processed via High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL). Metals X completed the first phase of a feasibility study in 2008. The results outlined a project with a minimum 40 year mine life at annual average production of 40kt/a of nickel and 3kt/a of cobalt.
