Asset Report
Zaldívar Sulphide copper mine project
Report summary
The Zaldívar deposit is located at an average elevation of 3300m above sea level and forms part of a large Tertiary porphyry copper system that also includes the Escondida mine. As of 2012 Zaldívar was primarily an open-pit heap leach copper mine. An analysis of this operation is the subject of a separate profile. This profile analyses the possible development of a project to exploit deeper sulphide resources to produce copper concentrate from a 70kt/d mill.
