Zhanhua Hugo Dragon BF - Closed nickel operation
Report summary
Located in Zhanhua Town, Shandong. NPI production commenced in early January 2008, mainly low grade (ca. 2% Ni) material being produced. The plant was forced to stop production in Oct 2008 due to the global economic situation. However, production recommenced in July 2009 with a change of product to 4-6% Ni NPI. Three blast furnaces are currently in production with one other furnace idled. Two furnaces of 300m³ and two of 450m³. NPI production is sold to Tisco and Lisco stainless mills.
