Interest in Côte d'Ivoire's offshore potential was revived in 2007, when the giant Jubilee oil field was discovered in the Ghanaian sector of the basin. This, together with other recent finds, indicates that there is material exploration potential remaining in Côte d'Ivoire. Recent exploration has targeted turbidite plays in reservoirs of Aptian and Albian age. We consider the future exploration potential of these Cretaceous reservoirs based on drilling in deepwater and on the shelf. Attractive full cycle economics are supported by moderate fiscal terms relative to established West African oil producing nations, despite a low cost recovery limit. This exploration basin report provides a detailed analysis of recent exploration and future expectations including discovery and development costs, maps and details of licensing and fiscal terms. We also evaluate the yet-to-find volume and value potential. The report is accompanied by multiple excel downloads.
