The Tunisian Pelagian basin is mature, with just 18 mmboe of resource discovered in the last 10 years. Only one exploration well has been drilled since 2016 and the major international oil companies (IOCs) are looking to exit the country. A change in the corporate landscape may lead to increased investment in the country. However, we forecast a modest 40 mmboe of mostly oil resources to be discovered during our outlook period. The majority of this will be concentrated on the shelf. Despite the limited prospective resource potential, attractive local prices combined with a quickly accessible infrastructure network results in positive full-cycle value creation across the basin at our base and high prices.
