The UK Central Graben Basin is located on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) in water depths of less than 100 metres. Conditions are generally benign, with modest storms compared to the nearby Northern North Sea and West Shetland basins. Despite there being several play concepts in the basin, future exploration is expected to focus on the Paleocene Sandstone play. Lower costs and the higher liquid content in the play make it a more attractive offer than other plays in the basin.
