Upstream licensing rounds quarterly: sluggish market continues
Report summary
The market for oil and gas licensing rounds continued to be sluggish in Q2 2021. A few awards were made, the most interesting being Suriname's shallow water round. Launches of new rounds continue to be thin on the ground. Some governments are delaying, either because they lack the capacity to hold virtual rounds or because they are awaiting a loosening of capital discipline. We provide information on upcoming rounds: Brazil's 17th round and Indonesia's first 2021 round. Also we provide details of results of Norway's 25th round and Suriname's shallow water round.
